A time to reflect

Greetings everyone from the BBG Camp!

Looking back on the other newsletters I realize how far behind I am with posting something new. I apologize, but I must say we have been very busy with "life".

Some people have asked "where did we go?" The best way to answer that question is just to give them a brief look in to what "life" has sent our way.

Just after we had a couple of songs chart on the Singing News Top 80, we were receiving bookings in areas that were new to us. It was so exciting, but soon we were to begin a journey that would take us to places that we would have never imagined. This journey, is one that would become known to us as "The Journey of Faith". Some of you may remember hearing us talk about these events, but for those that are new, I will get you caught up.

After our latest CD, "Pictures" had run it's course with radio, it was time for us to go back in to the studio. But every time we would nail down studio dates, things would happen to us that would set us back, either financially or physically. To kick all these events off, it started one morning around 3 am when we had every piece of equipment, CD's and even our trailer stolen from our front yard. Luckily our instruments were spared, but our insurance wouldn't cover our losses….in fact, it didn't pay one cent. God stopped by and showed us the power of friends and family and through the help of others, we were able to replace most of our equipment and get back on the road.

During this time, I was also dealing with unemployment. I had always had a dedicated full time job, but for some strange circumstances, I found myself without a paycheck. However, God supplied my needs and soon found myself working for a great company.

Just as we got back going strong, we re-scheduled a date for the studio and then we found out that Jennifer had been diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. This news was devastating. Our hearts seem to come to a stop as we were facing an all new challenge. Only those that have been effected directly with this horrible disease can understand truly as to what this feels like. God once again, reached down, touched Jennifer and healed her. It was an amazing experience to see His power of healing. We caught our second wind, and pressed on, seeking His guidance. But soon, we were faced with some major mechanical set backs with the bus, right about the time we had yet another date scheduled for the studio. It took a few months to recover, all the while we were still singing. Just as things seem to be moving forward, Christie and I lost a baby to a miscarriage. It was early in the pregnancy, but it still hurt so bad. And sadly, just a week after this, we found out that Jennifer was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Now listen folks, I know that all of this seems horrible, and you may wonder why I would want to tell you all of these bad things. The reason is this- through all of these events, GOD NEVER LEFT OUR SIDE!!

Jennifer underwent some major surgeries and is now CANCER FREE, and Christie, Abi and myself now have an amazing new member of the family- Asa Braden Burrow.

This Journey of Faith has produced an amazing walk with Christ. I personally have stumbled, fell and found myself about as low as I could get, but the beautiful thing is when you realize that you are that low, if you look up, you will find that God is reaching down to pull you back up. He may whip you, like a good father should do, but he will dust you off, set you back on your feet again and give you a brand new start. God's Holy Spirit has abided with us and we have found true peace that cannot be found from anything on this earth.

If you are going through some things in life that you cannot understand, please just let go and let God have total control.

We know that this year will prove to be an amazing year. Our schedule is full and we are going to places that we never thought we would go. We want to thank each and every one of you that are praying for us, supporting us and most of all….love us. God is in total control of this ministry and He has given us a story to share.

We love you all.

Here’s some news for ya!!

Greetings from the BBG camp! We hope everyone that is reading this has had a wonderful summer so far, spending time with the kids, grandkids, family and friends.

At the Hale camp- Jennifer has made an awesome recovery and Kanaan has done a great job filling in for her on the fiddle. The Hales bought a pool this summer and the kids have been wearing it out including Ronald (I have been on a diet so I can apply for a life-guard position over there before it gets to cold). Kanaan has her first full time job this summer babysitting, Sawyer has grown another foot and Ivy takes care of their new pup "Pete". Jennifer spends most of her time chasing the kids around and cooking food for Ronald.

At the Burrow camp- Christie is still taking care of her folk's farm; 5 poultry houses with 35,000 chickens. Abi has attended almost every Bible School within a 10 mile radius. We have spent some quality time at the lake too. BUT….with all this being said, the most exciting news right now is……….ABI is going to be a big sister!! yes that's right..WE ARE EXPECTING A BABY IN MARCH!!!!!! We are so excited that God is allowing us to bring another child in to this world! Be praying for us.

BLESSINGS that our little minds cannot comprehend and for these, we give HIM all the praise and glory.

Hello Everyone!

I apologize for such a long gap between the last update. Many of you that follow our FaceBook page is probably aware of some of the challenges that we have encountered within the last few months. If you are out of the loop, I will give you a brief update. Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer in February. It was caught as early as it could be. I'm not going to go in to much detail, because maybe she will be give us an update on here soon….to tell her story. I will say however that she had surgery and everything went great. She did not require chemo or radiation and now has been released for 6 mos. Recovery has caused us to reschedule and move some singing dates around. But we are so excited to announce that after 4 1/2 months, we are back on schedule.

Over the last few months, God has been speaking to each one of us individually. He has given us the peace and assurance knowing that we are where He needs us to be as far as our ministry. Each one of us have grown closer with our walk. His Holy Spirit has been moving and has shown us that true peace cannot be found from anything on this earth, only through Him. Even through all the trials that BBG has been through over the last few years including employment, health issues and theft, God has never left our side. We praise His Holy Name and find ourselves so unworthy of the blessings that He has given us through these tough times.

We have a story to tell……………..

Thank you all for your continuing prayers. May God richly bless each and every one of you.

Taking it easy!

Well, here we go! It's cold, the smell of smoke from fireplaces is in the air. I love this time of year!

This is also when BBG takes a few weeks off to spend time with our family and friends. 2010 was yet another awesome yet challenging year for us. With each and every trial, comes blessings that we seem so unworthy to receive. Our motto has always been to bring a little hope and encouragement to those in the places that we sing. This year, we found that those people showed just the same thing to us. We are truly blessed to have such an awesome group of Christian people willing to reach out and help us in time of need.

As we enter the Christmas season and the New Year, our prayer is that all of you will have safe, healthy and joyous times with your families. Keep in touch and visit the newsletter page again soon after the first of the year for some new exciting things scheduled for 2011.

May God Bless each and every one of you.

Hello everyone! We are excited to be back online once again. I'm not real sure as to what happened to our other site, but it vanished! A special thanks to Josh Ward for stepping in and taking this bull by the horns…he has done a great job!

2010 has been a special year for us. Not only did our website vanish, but so did our equipment! Back in April, while our bus was in for repairs, our trailer was stolen out of our yard during the night. This trailer had every CD, amp, speaker, cables…you name it inside except our instruments. It was never recovered and our insurance didn't pay either.

Then the most amazing thing happened, communities, churches, and other gospel groups started helping us out in ways that no words could describe. People from all over the southeast started calling and sending letters offering prayers and financial help. At that time, we were looking ahead at a very busy schedule, a new Cd project in the works, a bus in the shop and we had not the first bit of equipment. But then the Holy Spirit began to move in such a way, needs were being met, and everything that we needed was supplied without ever missing the first singing! I know that we may never get to personally thank each and every one that helped us out, but I do know that God will bless you in His own special way. We finished our CD, and we have dedicated it to all of you.

We love you and thank you for an amazing 10 years.

Hopefully, we will see you again sometime real soon. Check our schedule and come visit with us.

God Bless,

Ron B.
